The Nike Air Max 87 (year of creation) more commonly known as Nike Air Max 1 (for her role as eldest in the Air Max family) is today one of the most classical Nike shoe. However, at its inception it was one of the most controversial one.
The Air Max is the first pair that “get nacked”! Indeed, Tinker Hatlfield wants to allow consumers to really understand what was Air Max technology. He decided to highlight the bubble by leaving it visible. For the record, this inspiration comes directly from a trip to Paris and a visit to the Pompidou center, an architectural work leaving all structural elements visible. The success will strengthen Nike’s decision to have left orders to Tinker!
Since its release, this pair gave us a multitude of collaborations with many shops and artists. Since its first reissue in 1992, the design and materials have continued to evolve, but it has remained a timeless classic.
